Final Pre-Flight Go-Live Checklist

A 10-point readiness checklist for Part Beacon before public launch or broader promotion.

  1. SSL certificate live: confirm `https://partbeacon.net/` and all key pages load without mixed-content warnings and redirect cleanly from HTTP to HTTPS.
  2. Domain and canonical URLs: verify canonical tags point to `https://partbeacon.net/`, sitemap URLs are correct, and robots.txt allows public pages while private/source folders remain blocked.
  3. Favicon and brand assets: confirm `/favicon.svg`, logo, title tags, and top banner all consistently say “Part Beacon”.
  4. Analytics tracking: confirm privacy-conscious analytics are installed only where intended, exclude private subscriber/source pages, and do not expose supplier/source-sensitive data.
  5. 404 handling and redirects: verify missing public URLs show a useful branded 404 page, old/deprecated URLs redirect to the closest safe page, and private blocked files do not leak details.
  6. Signup/login flow: test signup, password validation, terms consent, thank-you page, SMTP relay email, one-link magic login, expired/wrong-link handling, logout, and subscriber redirect behavior.
  7. Email authentication: verify SPF, DKIM, and DMARC for the actual sender domain; run a test to Gmail/Outlook and confirm messages avoid spam and contain one secure login link only.
  8. Legal/privacy acceptance: confirm account setup links to Terms and Privacy, records consent timestamp/source, and includes a process for deletion/correction/unsubscribe requests.
  9. Search and data quality: verify freshness badges, no placeholder rows, no public supplier/source URLs, duplicate/stale handling, partial part-number search, typo search, and mobile inventory layout.
  10. Operational safety: confirm no automated purchase request, supplier contact, payment, bid, reservation, or airworthiness claim can occur without explicit human/operator approval.

Launch rule: if any item above fails, treat the launch as “soft/private beta” until corrected.
